  • 25 milliliters of rum
  • 1 splash of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 bay leaf

How to make drowned baby squid:

  1. Chop all the ingredients except the squid, that is, the onion, green pepper and garlic.
  2. Clean the cuttlefish leaving them whole. Add salt to taste and reserve.
  3. Put a little oil in a saucepan and heat it over high heat. Add the onion, pepper and minced garlic and cook it for 10 minutes over medium heat. Add a little salt and then the bay leaf and chili. When the vegetables are poached, pour in the white wine and rum and let the alcohol evaporate for 5 minutes.
  4. Trick: You can also make the cuttlefish drowned with cider instead of white wine.
  5. Add the squid and let them cook in the sauce for about 20 minutes over medium low heat.
  6. Salt test in case it is necessary to rectify. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top and serve very This is the typical Austrian recipe, although, as we have indicated, there are those who make the dish using cider instead of wine. Both options are delicious, so we encourage you to try both ways. In line with Austrian recipes, you can prepare a beef cachepot as a second course.
