Cuban Shrimp Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients to make Cuban Shrimp Cocktail:

  • 1 kilogram of precooked shrimp
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 large lemon
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 teaspoon of hot sauce
  • 1 bunch of Lettuce
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

How to make Cuban Shrimp Cocktail:

  1. The first thing you should do to start making the Cuban recipe is to prepare the ingredients.
  2. Remember that you must pre-cook the shrimp in boiling water for a maximum of 5 minutes so that they do not overcook. Once this process is complete, add the shrimp to a deep plastic bowl with the lemon juice and olive oil.
  3. In a separate deep bowl add the mayonnaise, ketchup and hot sauce. Remember that the degree of spiciness depends on the taste of each one, so you can add more or less than what the recipe indicates. Mix well until all the ingredients are integrated. Add the white wine too.
  4. Add the finely chopped white onion, the garlic paste, salt and black pepper to taste. Mix until integrated and rectify flavor, if you wish you can add more onion.
  5. Add the spicy tomato sauce and mayonnaise to the container where you have the shrimp and also add the oregano. Taste the shrimp cocktail, correct the flavor and, if you wish, add any other ingredient to your liking.
  6. Serve the Cuban shrimp cocktail chilled and on a bed of lettuce leaves. If you want, you can accompany this delicious starter with soda cookies or crackers.
