Creamy chicken rice recipe

This time, Yanina shares her recipe for arroz con pollo a la crema, a delicious cream and chicken sauce that, in this case, she made with rice but any pasta can be used, whether short or long. This easy recipe for creamy rice with chicken is very quick to prepare, and it serves as a change when preparing a white rice recipe at home. Try it!

Ingredients to make Creamy Chicken Rice:

  • 1 cup of raw rice
  • 1 chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 cup of meat broth
  • ½ glass of white wine
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 200 milliliters of Cream of milk (1 cup)
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to make Creamy Chicken Rice:

  1. The first step to prepare this creamy chicken rice is to cook the rice.
  2. For this, they cook the white rice as they usually do and we reserve it.
  3. Cut the chicken breast in half (book type) and each half, and cut them into strips and then cut the strips into squares, there should be small pieces.
  4. In the saucepan that we chose for the creamy rice with chicken, heat a little oil and brown the chicken.
  5. When it’s nicely browned, add a tablespoon of flour (this makes the cream sauce on the chicken rice thicken) and stir to mix and so the flour cooks down a bit.
  6. Remove from the pot and reserve.
  7. In the same saucepan and without washing it, we melt 1 tablespoon of butter with a little oil and sauté the onion and garlic.
  8. With a wooden spoon we are removing the bottom to take off all the flour that was left of the chicken, (in the photo it looks good on the edge) when it is transparent like this.
  9. We add the broth, the wine, the soy sauce, the ketchup, the paprika, the bay leaf and the pepper (I still do not add salt, because of the broth), and let it cook for about 10 minutes over medium low heat.
  10. There I add the already cooked chicken, and I try if it lacks salt, in case it lacks it, I salt it and if not, I leave it like that.
  11. I let the chicken cook over low heat and uncovered until it starts to thicken.
  12. Then I add the cream and let it boil again.
  13. This way the creamy chicken with rice will be tastier
  14. When it boils again, we mix the rice and the chicken to the cream and READY, in less than 20 minutes.
