This preparation is very typical of Latin American countries like Colombia, and also, they are easy and quick homemade custards to make so don’t miss them.
Ingredients to make Cornstarch and Milk Custard:
- 1 liter of milk
- 60g cornstarch
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
- 4 eggs
- Lemon peel
- 200g of sugar
- Vanilla branch
- cinnamon stick
How to make Cornstarch and Milk Custard:
- Put the milk in a saucepan to boil. We put the lemon zest, vanilla and cinnamon stick.
- Dissolve the cornstarch with a little milk, and when the saucepan with milk is hot, strain it and add the cornstarch little by little, stirring continuously.
- We beat the yolks with 100 grams of sugar. We add them to the preparation, slowly and stir. Turn off the heat and place the custard with cornstarch and egg in molds
- We beat the egg whites until stiff. We put the meringue on top of the cornstarch and milk custard and sprinkle it with cinnamon.
