Ingredients to make Corn and Chickpea Burgers:

  • 300 grams of cooked chickpeas
  • 100 grams of canned sweet corn
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 pinch of ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons of chickpea flour
  • 1 splash of olive oil

How to make Corn and Chickpea Burgers:

1 We gather all the ingredients to prepare the corn and chickpea burgers.

2 Drain the chickpeas from the canning liquid, rinse them and put them in a bowl. Crush the cooked chickpeas with the help of a fork or a potato masher.

3 Add the sweet corn, salt, pepper and the rest of the spices and continue to crush. The corn is not pureed, so nothing happens if the whole grains remain. The important thing is that the chickpeas do break up well to form consistent vegetable burgers.

4 Add the flour and form the dough. You will see that there is a compact mass to be able to handle it well with your hands.

5 We divide the dough into 4 portions; we give an oval shape and flatten them a little. Look at the image to form your corn and chickpea burgers.

6 Cook the chickpea burgers for 3 minutes on each side. To do this, it is important to first heat the pan with a little oil. And if we like them more done, we can leave them until they reach the desired cooking point.

7 You can accompany the corn and chickpea burgers with a little vegan mayonnaise.
