The cooked croquettes are delicious, and they are also a very easy recipe to use. Discover how to prepare these homemade croquettes with these simple steps.

Ingredients to make Cooked Croquettes:

  • 100 grams of cooked leftovers
  • 1 unit of Egg
  • 50 grams of breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of Butter
  • ½ glass of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 milliliters of oil

How to make Cooked Croquettes:

1 We prepare the ingredients to make these traditional croquettes. To do this, we will use the remains of this chicken and vegetable stew recipe.

2 We start by preparing a béchamel. In a pan, melt the butter and then add the flour and a pinch of salt. Let it cook for a few minutes and add the milk while stirring with a whisk. We are looking for a rather thick texture that will serve us for homemade croquettes.

3 When we have the béchamel, we add the remains of the cooked vegetables and chicken. We remove well and amalgamate it with the help of a fork, to form a thick mixture. Let it cool down for a few minutes.

4 We prepare the ingredients to make the batter for the homemade croquettes. Arrange the breadcrumbs on a plate and beat the egg in a bowl. With our hands we form the croquettes and pass them first through the breadcrumbs, then through the egg and again through the breadcrumbs. With a double batter they will be better.

5 Fry the cooked croquettes in a frying pan with plenty of very hot sunflower oil, and then let them rest a little on absorbent kitchen paper to remove any traces of oil.

6 We serve the traditional hot or cold croquettes accompanied by a beer. You can complete the menu with some healthy vegetables, for example some sautéed spinach. Bon Appetite!
