Ingredients to make colored popcorn:

  • 60 grams of corn for popcorn
  • 1 small glass of white sugar
  • 3 jars of food coloring
  • 1 dash of sunflower oil

How to make colored popcorn:

  1. The preparation is very quick and easy, you only have to prepare the corn grains to make popcorn, with a small amount you will get enough popcorn.
  2. Pour a stream of oil into a fairly deep container, and wait for it to heat up. When smoke starts to come out, add the corn kernels, cover the pot and stir vigorously all the while holding the handles.
  3. Small explosions will start to sound, keep moving until they stop sounding, remove and do not open the pot to avoid popping out some popcorn that was not yet exploded.
  4. On the other hand, prepare the syrup that will be used to make the mixture of colors for the popcorn.
  5. Put water and sugar to boil until a light homemade syrup is formed. Don’t leave it too long or it will thicken too much.
  6. This is one of the most fun parts and for which you can count on the help of the children at home.
  7. Put 10 drops of color in each container separately, it is an easy way to separate the colors without fear of making mistakes.
  8. Once you have the syrup, distribute it in the little glasses with the dyes, each of them will have the same syrup content.
  9. Use a different teaspoon for each one and stir the mixture.
  10. Make three partitions of popcorn and separate them into different containers to pour the little glasses with the colored syrup into them.
  11. Stir with a kitchen tongue or wooden spoon to avoid spoiling the popcorn and so that it is perfectly tinted.
  12. Surely as soon as they cool down you will want to eat them, bon appetite!
  13. Trick: Let it rest on parchment paper so they don’t stick together.
