  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 cup of black head beans
  • 1 branch of long onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 30 grams of Oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make Colombian Rice with Beans:

  1. Before making this Colombian recipe, the first step is to prepare all the ingredients.
  2. In a bowl, add the beans with plenty of water and leave them to soak overnight.
  3. After this time, strain the beans, cook them with water and a bay leaf for 1 hour.
  4. Separately, in oil at medium heat, fry the finely chopped onion and the marinated garlic for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. It is time to add two cups of water from cooking the beans.
  6. When it is boiling add the beans and the rice, rectify the flavor with salt.
  7. Wait for the water to evaporate and cover the rice, cook for 30 minutes over very low heat.
