Ingredients to make cod fritters with beer:

  • 150 grams of cod crumbs
  • 120 grams of wheat flour
  • 100 milliliters of beer
  • 1 tablespoon yeast dessert
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 handful of parsley
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 glass of oil for frying

How to make Beer Cod Fritters:

  1. Beat the eggs and add the beer, which must be very cold. Keep beating to integrate it. To make the cod fritters with beer we have used blonde beer.
  2. Mix the flour with the teaspoon of yeast and a pinch of salt. Gradually add these ingredients to the previous mixture and integrate them. There should be a mass like a puree. If the dough is too liquid add more flour, if it is too thick you can add a little more beer.

  4. Remove the skin and bones from the cod and chop it very small or cut it into thin strips.
  5. Peel and chop the garlic finely. Also chop the parsley very small. These ingredients will give the cod fritters with beer an extra flavor, but you can modify them to your liking.
  6. Add the chopped cod to the bowl, the garlic and the parsley. Mix and let the dough rest for 20-30 minutes in the fridge.
  7. Tip: if you want, you can make the cod fritters with beer and Parmesan by adding this grated cheese to the dough.
  8. Heat a pan with plenty of oil over high heat, but without letting it smoke. When it is hot, take a portion of the dough with a spoon and throw it into the pan to form the fritter. Fry the fritters for a couple of minutes on each side or until golden.
  9. Reserve the fritters on a plate with a sheet of kitchen paper to release the excess oil.
