Hello everyone!!! I bring you a super simple and quick recipe. This is the famous choux pastry for profiteroles. These delicacies are like small rolls that are neither too sweet nor too salty, which makes them ideal for filling them with whatever we want, either whipped cream and chocolate, as I did in this recipe, or cheeses and meats if we want some salty profiteroles.

So, keep reading to discover the step by step of this delicious recipe that I share in this article.

Ingredients to make Choux pastry for profiteroles:

  1. 175 grams of unprepared flour
  2. 2½ teaspoons baking powder
  3. 150 grams of Margarine
  4. 250 milliliters of Water
  5. ½ teaspoon of Salt
  6. 4 units of Eggs
  7. ½ teaspoon of vanilla essence

How to make choux pastry for profiteroles:

  • The first step to make our homemade profiteroles will be to sift the flour with the baking powder and reserve.
  • Separately, in a pot, add the margarine along with the water and salt, and bring to the heat.
  • When it begins to boil and the margarine dissolves, you should add the flour atonce and stir with a wooden spoon constantly until the mixture detaches from the pot.
  • The dough for the profiteroles should be as seen in the photo. When you get it, remove from the heat and let it warm.
  • The choux pastry that we are making will serve you to make any type of profiteroles, both sweet and savory.
  • When the dough is at room temperature, add the eggs one by one, beating with the same wooden spoon that we have used so far. Mix well until the ingredients are integrated and you get a paste similar to a puree.
  • To finish the preparation of the profiteroles dough, add the vanilla.
  • Now, place all this dough in a pastry bag with a flat nozzle and form separate balls, so that they can rise in the oven, on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 220°Cand cook our choux pastry for approximately 25 minutes.

Tip: It is recognized that the profiteroles are already cooked when the surface is dry and golden.

  • Once the profiteroles are cold, we can fill them with what we want. In this case we have used it with whipped cream, ending with a touch of chocolate fudge to present an exquisite dessert.
  • The choux pastry for profiteroles will allow you to make your own creations and pamper everyone with incredible desserts.
