Chocolate Nougat Recipe with Cinnamon Cookies

When I think of Christmas there are several flavors that come to mind. One of them is, without a doubt, the chocolate nougat and another is cinnamon, perhaps my favorite spice! Currently we can find a wide variety of nougats for sale with almost any ingredient and flavor that we can think of, but making them at home is more fun because, in addition to knowing what is in what we are eating, we can adapt the nougat to our personal tastes. In this article I teach you how to prepare a chocolate nougat with cinnamon cookies that I am sure you will like a lot at home.

Ingredients to make Chocolate nougat with cinnamon cookies:

  1. 170 grams of milk chocolate
  2. 50 grams of lard
  3. 50 grams of cocoa cream type Nocilla, Nutella or similar
  4. 30 grams of honey
  5. 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  6. 12 Neapolitan cookies (the ones with sugar and cinnamon on top)

How to make Chocolate Nougat with Cinnamon Cookies:

  • We break the cookies with our hands into not very large pieces and reserve. Separately, we remove the butter from the refrigerator so that it loses its coldness and is easier to work with.
  • We melted the chocolate in a bain-marie. To do this, we take a saucepan (it does not have to be very large) and fill it with water about three quarters. On top, we place a bowl (metallic or glass) that must be touching the water with the base. We put it on the fire and in the bowl we put the chopped chocolate to melt it in a bain-marie. When the water starts to boil, the chocolate will start to melt. Stir occasionally and remove from heat when melted.

Tip: You can also do it in the microwave, but be careful not to burn the chocolate.

  • Add the lard to the bowl with the chocolate, which we still leave on the saucepan with hot water. After a few minutes, it should be softened. We beat with a spatula or rod until it is perfectly integrated with the chocolate and we can continue with the homemade nougat recipe.
  • Add the honey and cocoa creamand mix again. This chocolate nougat with cookies is delicious and will become everyone’s favorite.
  • Finally, add the cinnamon and, when we have mixed, add the cookies and make sure they are well dipped in chocolate.
  • Pour the mixture into our nougat mold and let it cool. When it loses heat, we can cover it with transparent film and move it to the fridge so that it solidifies faster, or we can leave it outside although it will take longer.

Trick: If you don’t have a nougat mold, cut a tetra brik in half, wash it and dry it and you will have a great and very cheap mold.

  • Once it has hardened, we can now enjoy this delicious and Christmassy chocolate nougat with cookies. It is perfect to surprise young and old alike, and to serve with other Christmas sweets.
