Chocolate cake with orange syrup recipe

Ingredients to make Chocolate cake with orange syrup:

  1. 190 grams of dark chocolate fondant
  2. 110 grams of fondant white chocolate
  3. 6 eggs
  4. 210 grams of sugar
  5. 180 grams of unsalted butter
  6. 190 grams of pastry flour
  7. 1 sachet baking powder (I use Royal)
  8. To make the cake drunk:
  9. 100 milliliters of strained orange juice
  10. 100 grams of sugar (½ cup)
  11. For the coverage:
  12. 150 grams of dark chocolate fondant
  13. 150 grams of whipping cream
  14. To decorate:
  15. 50 grams of fondant white chocolate

How to make Chocolate cake with orange syrup:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and grease and flour a mold approximately 20 cm in diameter (I used a silicone crown mold). Break the pieces of the two chocolates in a saucepan and melt them in a bain-marie, or melt them in a bowl in the microwave along with the butter and mix everything well until you get a cream.
  • Tip:If the mold you are going to use is silicone, you do not need to grease it.
  • With the help of manual or electric whisks, beat the eggs with the sugar until they double their volume. Then add the melted chocolates and stir with a pastry tongue. Then add the sifted yeast and flour and mix everything gently. Pour the dough into the mound.
  • Bakethe homemade chocolate cake for 40 or 45 minutes. To check if it’s done, poke it with a toothpick. Then take it out of the oven and let it cool down
  • While the cake is baking, prepare the syrup: to do this, boil the orange juice together with the sugar for about 5 minutes in a saucepan and then let it cool. When both the cake and the syrup are warm. With a brush, spread all the orange syrup to make the chocolate cake drunk
  • To make the coverage, cut the white chocolate into pieces in a bowl and heat the cream on the other side. When it starts to boil, pour in the cream and stir everything so that the coverage melts well and is shiny. Then place the brownie with orange syrupon a wire rack and pour the topping over the top without much care so that it falls on all sides. Before it sets, sprinkle some shavings of white or colored chocolate on top.
