  1. 1½ cups whole wheat flour
  2. ½ cup of cocoa powder (52½ grams)
  3. 1 dessert spoon of baking powder
  4. 1 tablespoon bicarbonate of soda
  5. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  6. 1 cup of milk (240 milliliters)
  7. ½ cup sunflower oil
  8. 2 eggs
  9. 250 grams of dates
  10. 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

How to make Chocolate cake without sugar or sweeteners:

  • The first thing we must do to start preparing the sugar-free cake dough is to beat the milk with the peeled dates. The ideal is to get a homogeneous and creamy paste. If you prefer, you can use vegetable milk, such as almond milk.
  • Trick: Dates are the natural ingredient that will give the cake a sweet taste, so you can increase or reduce their quantity.
  • In a separate container, we beat the eggs, add the oil and continue beating. Although we have used sunflower oil, if you prefer you can use olive oil and even coconut oil.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the mixture of eggs and oil, that is, the cocoa, the baking powder, the bicarbonate of soda, the cinnamon and the whole wheat flour. If you sift all of these ingredients together before adding them, your sugar-free, sweetener-free brownie batter will be smoother. Then we add the date paste and incorporate.
  • Preheat the oven to 180ºCwith heat up and down. Meanwhile, we take a mold of about 25 cm in diameter, flour it, pour the dough and bake the chocolate cake with heat only below.
  • We must bake the chocolate cake without sugar or sweetener for 40 minutes without opening the door. After this time, we activate the heat above and bake for 10 more minutes.
  • Trick: At the end, perform the toothpick test and check if it is ready.
