How to make Cookie Chips Today:
- To make the Chips Ahoy type homemade cookies, the first thing we do is get all the ingredients ready. In my case, I didn’t have any chocolate chips and decided to make my own. So, I used coverture chocolate and 15 grams of butter.
- If you don’t have chocolate chips either, we’ll start by making them. We take the chocolate and melt it in a bain-marie together with the butter. We are stirring so that these ingredients are well integrated and we pass them to a pastry bag when they are ready.
- This procedure is almost the same as for chocolate cake coating.
- We take a baking tray, line it with baking paper and, little by little and with a lot of patience, we will place small chocolate chips with the pastry bag.
- You can make them any size you want but keep in mind that for cookies it is better if they are small. We reserve them in the refrigerator to harden.
- Now yes, let’s go with the recipe for cookies with sparkles! Take a container and beat the brown sugar with the white and the chopped butter until you get a creamy mixture.
- Once the previous ingredients are integrated, add the eggs one by one and continue beating. The mixture should grow as we beat.
- Add the essence of vanilla and bicarbonate and continue beating until fully integrated.
- To continue preparing the dough for our Chips Ahoy, add the flour and mix very carefully. There should be no lumps.
- We can knead with our hands to integrate the ingredients more easily. Once the dough is obtained, it is time to remove the chocolate chips from the refrigerator
- Add the chocolate chips to the bowl with the dough and mix with your hands. If you want to add chopped nuts, now is the time. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- We form small balls with the dough and place them on a tray lined with baking paper. We must put them on the tray leaving a certain space between them to prevent them from sticking to each other while they bake.
- Bake the Chips Ahoy cookies for 8-10 minutes, keeping a constant eye on them to prevent them from overcooking. They should be soft; if they brown too much when they cool down they will be very hard.
- When they are ready, let them cool on the tray for approximately 10 minutes. Then, we transfer them to a rack so that they finish cooling and we can enjoy them with a good chocolate milkshake.
