Chickpeas with Pork Bacon Recipe

Ingredients to make Chickpeas with pork bacon:

  • 400 grams of Chickpeas (hydrated from the night before)
  • 150 grams of pork bacon
  • 2 units of white onion
  • 4 medium tomato units
  • 3 branches of long onion
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 pinch of dried tomato
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper

How to make Chickpeas with Pork Bacon:

1 Prelist the ingredients.

2 Cut the bacon into medium squares. Reserve.

3 Bring a pot to medium heat, add a splash of oil and add the bacon squares. Let brown very well.

4 Wash and chop the vegetables as shown in the photo.

5 Add the chopped vegetables to the golden bacon, fry for a few minutes.

6 Add the chickpeas and cover with enough water. Add the bay leaves and thyme. Let it boil for about 45 to 60 minutes if we don’t have a pressure cooker, if we have a pressure cooker they will be much faster, here I do it in a normal pot to show the step by step procedures. Turn off the heat and check the cooking point of the chickpeas if they are hard, cook for 10 more minutes making sure they do not fall apart.

7 Serve the chickpeas with bacon bathing with the preparation sauce. Enjoy.
