Chickpea Stew with Serrano Ham Recipe

Ingredients to make Chickpea Stew with Serrano Ham:

  • 100g pumpkin
  • 2 potatoes
  • 500g chickpeas
  • 1/2 chicken
  • Salt
  • 1 type of Serrano ham
  • 1 turnip
  • 100g carrots
  • 100g bacon
  • 1 stick of celery
  • 250g black pudding

How to make Chickpea Stew with Serrano Ham:

  1. Let the chickpeas soak to soften for 12 – 24 hours before use.
  2. In a large saucepan, with cold water, put all the meats and bring to a boil.
  3. Throw away that water and wash the meats. Put them back in the pan with the previously peeled and washed vegetables.
  4. Cover with cold water, bring to a boil and add the chickpeas.
  5. Lower the heat and let it cook until the chickpeas are tender, approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  6. Strain the broth, serve as consommé or soup and accompany the chickpeas with the vegetables and meats.
