Chicken Tinga Tostadas Recipe

Tinga tostadas are a typical Mexican dish, originally from the State of Puebla, made mainly of some shredded meat stewed in a sauce based on red tomato, onion and garlic. In addition, it is a very crowded recipe during the national holidays in this beautiful country.

On this occasion, we present you some delicious chicken tinga tostadas, which will be stewed in a rich red sauce with chipotle, which adds the characteristic spicy touch of Mexican cuisine.

Ingredients to make Chicken Tinga Tostadas:

  • ½ piece of chicken breast
  • ½ kilogram of red tomato
  • 3 pieces of Onion
  • 1 tablespoon of chicken broth
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 pinch of garlic salt
  • ¼ can of chipotle peppers
  • ½ piece of lettuce
  • 1 package of Toast
  • 4 tablespoons of oil

How to make Chicken Tinga Tostadas:

We present our ingredients to start preparing Mexican tostadas with chicken. To start, we boil the chicken, add a little onion and a clove of garlic, as well as a pinch of salt. While the chicken breast is cooking, in another saucepan with boiling water, cook the sauce ingredients: red tomato, onion and garlic.

On the other hand, while the chicken and the ingredients for the Mexican sauce are cooking, we begin to slice the lettuce to, later, leave it disinfecting. While the lettuce is disinfected, we will start to slice all the onion that we need for our chicken tinga and reserve it for a moment.

When the ingredients for the red sauce are perfectly cooked, we add them to the blender along with the chipotle peppers and the chicken consommé, and proceed to mix them to obtain a homogeneous mixture. We reserve it for a moment. When the chicken is cooked, remove it from the water, let it cool down a bit and proceed to shred it with your hands. We reserve it for a moment to be able to continue with the Mexican recipe. Add the oil to a saucepan and, when the oil is hot enough, add the onion that we slice to fry, we also add a pinch of salt.

When the onion is ready, we add the red sauce that we previously reserved in order to season it together with the onion and thus achieve a rich flavor. When the sauce is seasoned with the onion, we add the chicken so that it takes on that pleasant flavor and we can finish the Mexican recipe. And ready! We begin to form the Mexican tostadas by first adding a little chicken tinga, lettuce, cheese and sour cream, they are ready to taste.
