If you like pesto pasta recipes, you can’t miss this step-by-step with photos that we show you below. It is an exquisite and very creamy pasta dish with chicken pesto, since instead of using water to boil it; we are going to use milk. And on top of that we will add grated Parmesan cheese at the end, so this chicken pesto pasta will be super tasty and with an unmistakable Italian flavor.

Ingredients to make Pesto Chicken Pasta:

  1. 150 grams of Bacon in strips
  2. 4 sliced chicken breasts
  3. 3 medium onions
  4. 3 garlic cloves
  5. 150 grams of spinach leaves
  6. 5 cups of Milk (1200 milliliters)
  7. 500 grams of noodles / fettuccine
  8. ½ cup Pesto (sauce)
  9. 1 cup of grated Parmesan
  10. 1 splash of olive oil
  11. 1 pinch of salt
  12. 1 pinch of ground black pepper

How to make Pesto Chicken Pasta:

  • The first thing we have to do to prepare this delicious pasta with pesto chicken is to fry the bacon cut into strips in a deep pot or casserole, because we are going to make the entire dish in that same container.
  • Meanwhile, we cut the chicken breast sheets into squares to make it easier to take it to our mouths once the pesto pasta is ready.
  • Once the bacon is fried, reserve it on a plate and fry all the chicken in the same pot with a drizzle of olive oil until golden.
  • While the chicken is frying, we peel and cut the onions into julienne strips and chop the garlic, and once the chicken is fried, we move it to the plate where the bacon is and we begin to poach the vegetables in the same pot.
  • When the onions and garlic are well browned, add the spinach leaves and sauté them for a moment. You will see that at first they bulge a lot but as soon as they are cooked they reduce a lot.
  • Tip: If you don’t like spinach, you can skip this step or add basil leaves, for example.
  • Next, we add the 5 cups of milk and bring it to a boil. What we are going to do is use this liquid instead of water to cook the pasta with pesto chicken so that it is much creamier.
  • Once the milk is boiling, add the pasta, in this case we have chosen some noodles, and cook it for about 6 minutes (about 2 minutes less than the total cooking time according to the manufacturer’s instructions). Don’t worry because the pasta will absorb the milk almost entirely and you won’t have anything left over.
  • Once the pasta has been cooked, add the fried bacon and chicken, half a cup of pesto sauce and the grated Parmesan, and stir everything well for another two minutes so that the ingredients are well integrated. The result is very creamy and flavorful pesto chicken pasta. Take advantage!
