Chicken Carbonara Crepes Recipe

In this easy recipe we are going to make some very original salty crepes. Chicken carbonara crepes combine the best of several cuisines, since we will use the classic Italian sauce to accompany some chicken strips that will be the filling of a French crepe.

Ingredients to make Chicken Carbonara Crepes:

  • 1 chicken breast
  • 50 grams of mushrooms
  • 50 grams of bacon or bacon
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 milliliters of béchamel sauce
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • For the crepe batter:
  • 500 milliliters of whole milk
  • 125 grams of wheat flour
  • 70 grams of butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 pinch of garlic paste

How to make Chicken Carbonara Crepes:

Our first step to make the carbonara crepes recipe is to pre-list the ingredients for the filling. Take a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon or bacon cut into thin strips.  Remove from the heat once the fat has been released and it is lightly browned. In the same pan, add the chicken in thin strips and add salt, black pepper and garlic paste to taste. Sauté the shredded or chopped chicken for a few minutes and remove from the heat.

Continue cooking the filling for the carbonara crepes in the same pan, adding a teaspoon of butter to sauté the mushrooms. Continue cooking until they are ready, and then remove from the heat and reserve. Put the fried chicken back in the pan, but this time add the white wine. Cook over medium-low heat until reduced and the alcohol is consumed.

Add the béchamel sauce and reduce the carbonara of the crepes by half. Remember that you can make this sauce yourself following the béchamel sauce recipe. Add the beaten eggs and mix well the filling ingredients for the chicken crepes in béchamel sauce. Remove the pan from the heat and add the rest of the ingredients on the list. Stir until the bacon and mushrooms are evenly distributed. With the filling ready, now we have to prepare the dough for the crepes. So, the first thing is to enlist the ingredients of the list. In a bowl add the wheat flour, milk and eggs. Mix the ingredients well. Add a pinch of salt and mix well until you get a homogeneous mass, like the one seen in the photograph.

Add the melted butter and mix very well. To cook the crepes, heat a skillet over medium heat with a little butter and add a portion of dough. Spread over the entire surface and cook a couple of minutes on each side. Repeat the process until you finish with the dough. Heat the chicken carbonara filling and fill each of the homemade crepes. You can decorate with a little Parmesan cheese and parsley or oregano on top. Chicken carbonara crepes can be the perfect lunch or dinner on a special day.
