For a quick, easy and healthy snack, nothing better than these caprese skewers that I bring you this time. They are made in a jiffy, they are very aromatic and even tastier, light and very shiny. I made these cherry tomato, cheese and basil skewers for my husband’s birthday appetizer and there wasn’t a single one left over. Even my little nieces gave a good account of them :), and there are few combinations comparable to that of cherry tomato, mozzarella and basil skewers. Nothing else is needed or, at most, a splash of good extra virgin olive oil. And there is nothing like the Mediterranean diet, right? 🙂
Ingredients to make Cherry Tomato, Cheese and Basil Skewers:
- 1 bag of cherry tomatoes
- 1 package of small mozzarella balls
- fresh basil leaves
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil (optional)
How to make Cherry Tomato, Cheese and Basil Skewers:
First of all, to make these cherry tomato and mozzarella skewers, we wash the tomatoes and cut them into halves. Wash the basil leaves and dry them well with kitchen paper. To mount the caprese skewers we will need some sticks like the skewers but somewhat shorter. First, pierce a tomato half. Then add a piece or a whole leaf of basil, depending on the size. Then a mozzarella ball. We will finish with another basil leaf and another half of tomato.
Before serving the cherry tomato and cheese skewers, optionally, we can add a splash of olive oil. As you like. And if we add a vinaigrette we will obtain perfect caprese skewers.
As you can see, these cherry tomato, cheese and basil skewers are made in a jiffy and they couldn’t be more delicious. Ideal for an appetizer of ten!
