Cheese sticks with puff pastry recipe

There are snacks that, in addition to being super easy to prepare, do not have very complex ingredients and are made in a moment. For example, these salty puff pastry sticks that we propose so that you can surprise at home with a tasty, different snack that will please both adults and children.

These puff pastry sticks or strips of puff pastry with cheese only need 4 ingredients: the puff pastry dough, the cheese, and a dressing that we have prepared from oil and oregano, which goes wonderfully with the cheese and the puff pastry. As you can see, we have substituted the egg for the oil so that the puff pastry is juicier. Let’s get to the kitchen and discover how to make these puff pastry cheese sticks!

Ingredients to make Puff Pastry Cheese Sticks:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of oregano
  • 150 milliliters of olive oil

How to make Puff Pastry Cheese Sticks:

We present the ingredients that we are going to need to make the salty puff pastry sticks. We spread the puff pastry on a flat surface, helping us with a rolling pin and a little flour. To prepare your own pasta, don’t miss our puff pastry recipe. With a knife or a pizza cutter we mark each of the sticks, look at the photograph to do it in the same way. We also cut the cheese, not very wide, with five millimeters it will be enough.

We place each portion of cheese on its corresponding hole, previously spread with oil, to start forming the puff pastry sticks with cheese. Wrap each cheese stick with the dough.  You have to close each stick well or when you bake them all the cheese will come out.

We prepare the mixture of oregano and oil integrating these ingredients perfectly. Although this step is optional, it will give it an extra touch of flavor and, therefore, we recommend carrying it out.

We spread each stuffed puff pastry stick, which we will twist a little – all that the cheese leaves us – with the oil and oregano mixture. We heat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake for about 10 minutes at 200 degrees and, once done, let cool on a rack before presenting them. Clever! We serve the cheese sticks with puff pastry accompanied by the sauce that we like the most, such as an onion dip or an avocado dip.
