Chard recipe with steamed potatoes

The chard with steamed potatoes recipe is ideal for losing weight or keeping fit, as it is a healthy, nutritious and delicious dish. We can taste this dish during dinner or as an accompaniment to another equally healthy preparation, such as grilled chicken breast or a quinoa and aubergine burger, for example, if we follow a vegan or vegetarian diet.

Ingredients to make chard with steamed potatoes:

  •  300 grams of Swiss chard
  •  2 medium potatoes
  •  1 pinch of salt
  •  1 pinch of pepper
  •  1 pinch of paprika powder (optional)
  •  ½ onion (optional)
  •  1 clove of garlic (optional)

How to make chard with steamed potatoes:

The first thing we must do is clean the chard and chop it, peel and cut the potatoes into similar pieces, neither too small nor too large so that everything cooks at the same time.

Then, we put a pot with water to heat and, when it starts to boil, we place the steamer and introduce the chard, the potatoes, the peeled and chopped garlic clove, as well as the peeled and julienned onion. Both garlic and onion are optional ingredients to give more flavor to the chard with steamed potatoes recipe.

Cover and cook the chard with steamed potatoes for approximately 20-30 minutes over medium heat. Depending on the size of the potatoes, the amount and the degree of cooking that we like, it may take more or less, so we will check the cooking. Also, season to taste.

Trick: The lid must have holes so that the steam comes out.
