Carnitas tacos have become one of the favorite appetizers for Mexicans, since we can find them in different parts of the city such as markets, restaurants and even some street stalls. Carnitas are a dish where we find different parts of the pig cooked with lard and some spices. If you want to know how to prepare the famous carnitas tacos we give you the delicious recipe.

Ingredients to make Carnitas Tacos:

  • 1½ kilograms of pork meat (leg, loin, rib, fillet, skirt)
  • 1½ pieces of white onion
  • ½ head of Garlic
  • ½ kilogram of lard
  • 5 pieces of Oranges
  • 250 milliliters of whole milk
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • ¼ bunch of herbs
  • 4 grams of salt
  • 10 pieces of whole black pepper
  • For the green sauce
  • ½ piece of white onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ piece of avocado
  • 2 grams of salt
  • 250 milliliters of water
  • 750 grams of clean green tomato
  • 4 pieces of Serrano chili
  • 30 grams of Coriander
  • At your service
  • 5 pieces of lemon in halves
  • ½ piece of chopped white onion
  • 30 coriander leaves, chopped

How to make Carnitas Tacos:

1 The first thing we have to do to prepare the carnitas tacos is to heat the butter in a saucepan, add the meat previously washed and cut into small pieces along with the onion, garlic, pepper, salt, herbs, smell, whole milk and orange juice.

2 Halfway through cooking, add the peel of two oranges, the evaporated milk and mix everything evenly. Stir occasionally during the end of cooking to prevent small adhesions from forming on the meat.

3 For the green sauce that will accompany our carnitas tacos, blend all the ingredients and reserve.

4 Drain the pieces of meat and chop them into small pieces. Reserve them.
