Ingredients to make caramelized onion and brie cheese tart:

  • 1 sheet of rectangular puff pastry
  • 3 units of spring onions or sweet
  • 1 wedge of Brie cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

For the black olive oil:

  • ½ small glass of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 jar of pitted black olives

How to make Caramelized Onion and Brie Tart:

The first step to prepare this caramelized onion and brie cheese tart is to heat the oil in a frying pan, and meanwhile peel and julienne the spring onions. Fry over low heat until the onion is soft and caramelized without falling apart. Once done, we put a little salt and reserve removing the excess oil if it has it.

Then preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Cut the sheet of puff pastry into 5×16 centimeter rectangles (depending on the size we give it, more or less amount of caramelized onion and brie cheese tartlets will come out). Then, prick the puff pastry rectangles with a fork and put them in the oven for about 10 minutes.

We take out the puff pastry tarts, cover them with the onion and put slices of brie cheese on top. Return to the oven for a few minutes until the cheese melts. For the olive oil (also known as olive pâté or olive oil), drain the olives well, chop them in the mortar until you get a paste and add the oil little by little. Once we take the caramelized onion and brie cheese tarts out of the oven, we put a little of this olive oil on top and that’s it!
