Ingredients to make bird milk:
- 1 liter of warm water
- 70 gr of canary seed
- 1 pinch of salt
- cinnamon vanilla or lemon to aromatize to your taste
- agave honey or sugar (optional)
How to make CANARY SEED MILK:
- It is advisable to soak the birdseed seeds the night before or a few hours before, strain the seeds in a colander and wash them well. At home I heat the liter of water in the microwave for 90 seconds at 800 W, the temperature has to be between 60-80ºIntroduce the birdseed, a pinch of salt and cinnamon, vanilla or another aroma (to your liking) into the blender or mixer container. Cover the birdseed with part of the water, by putting less quantity we will blend it better. Beat for one minute. Add the rest of the water, let stand 5 minutes and beat again.
- Strain well, at home I use a very fine strainer. Store in the fridge, you can consume it for 4 or 5 days.
- Salt helps us to enhance the flavor. Flavor to your liking, I like it with cinnamon, vanilla or lemon, I like to vary it. When I make vegetable milk I don’t put sugar, agave, or honey since I have a sweet tooth, and I try to control the sweet that I eat.
- You can take it alone, with cocoa, cereal or coffee.
