  • 16 tamale leaves
  • 200 grams of pineapple
  • 100 grams of chopped walnut
  • 100 grams of Raisins
  • 1 jar of pineapple jam

How to make Canarian Tamales:

1 Before preparing this Mexican tamale recipe, we must weigh and prepare all our ingredients.

2 We start by washing the tamale leaves, soak them for a few minutes in hot water to soften them and let them drain.

3 Separately, beat the butter with the condensed milk until creamy.

4 Without stopping beating we add the evaporated milk, the flours and the baking powder. Beat for 5 more minutes at medium speed. Don’t worry if there are a little lumps in the dough, it’s normal.

5 On the other hand, chop the pineapple and the walnut.

6 Empty tablespoons of mixture in the tamale leaves, fill with a little of the pineapple in pieces, walnuts and raisins.

7 Close the tamales by rolling the leaf and tightening them a bit. Steam for 50 minutes or until the dough comes off the leaves without leaving lumps.

8 Canarian tamales are served warm and accompanied by pineapple jam.
