Caipirinha with rum

FoodsDiary By FoodsDiary

Ingredients to make Caipirinha with rum:

  • 2 tablespoons of Sugar
  • 2 units of fresh limes
  • 1 cup of white rum
  • 1 cup of crushed ice

How to make Caipirinha with rum:

  1. The first thing we must do to make the caipirinha is cut the limes into quarters, this is the traditional cut but if you prefer you can leave them sliced.
  2. Place the limes in the bottom of a wide-mouthed glass and mash them together with the sugar. This means that you crush them, it can be with a mortar, until all the juice is extracted and mixed with the sugar.
  3. If you have time, you can let it rest for a few minutes so that the limes release all their flavor.
  4. Next, fill the glass with the crushed ice and immediately after, add the rum. Shake with a mixer, stirring from top to bottom so that the rum reaches the bottom of the glass and the lime-sugar mixture rises.
  5. Garnish the rum caipirinha cocktail glasses with a few lime wedges and enjoy. And if you like rum cocktails you can also try the famous Cuban mojito or try the original caipirinha with cachaça.
