Brown rice with quinoa recipe

  • 1 cup of brown rice (200 grams)
  • 1 cup of Quinoa
  • 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil
  • 20 grams of fresh parsley
  • 1 dessert spoon of garlic paste

  1. To start making our brown rice with quinoa recipe, the first step is to prepare all the ingredients.
  2. Bring a pot to medium heat and add the tablespoon of sunflower oil along with the brown rice and fry it for a couple of minutes with a little salt to taste.
  3. Remember that brown rice is rice that has not been processed and still contains the pistil, which makes it cook a little slower than normal.
  4. Add garlic paste and let fry for a few more minutes.
  5. Brown rice is harder than white rice, this means that for a cup of brown rice you will always have to add three cups of water.
  6. Once we have added the water in the previous step and we see that the water dries up, we cover the rice and lower the heat to a simmer in this way we will finish cooking our brown rice.
  7. You should leave it at this temperature for about 20 minutes.

  12. We put a frying pan over medium heat and fry the quinoa with a little salt and pepper to taste.
  13. Add the brown rice to the pan where we have the quinoa and mix well until all the ingredients are integrated
  14. To enhance the flavor of our recipe, add a little garlic paste to taste, salt, pepper and finely chopped parsley.
