Ingredients to make broken calzones in the oven:

  • 2 cups of wheat flour (280 grams)
  • 2 units of Lemons (the zest)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons of white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of Butter
  • 1 unit of Egg
  • 1 pinch of vanilla essence
  • 1 cup of Milk (240 milliliters)

How to make Broken Calzones in the oven:

  • The first step to make the calzones roots recipe is to prepare the ingredients.
  • In a bowl add the wheat flour and white sugar.
  • Add the baking powder and the zest of the lemons. Mix the ingredients very well.
  • In a separate bowl add milk and egg. Mix the ingredients very well until they are integrated. Add this mixture to the bowl where we have the dry ingredients.
  • We must form a homogeneous mass without lumps. If the dough is very dry, add more milk and if it is very liquid, add more flour.
  • Add a little flour on the table where we are going to stretch the dough and roll it out with the help of a rolling pin.
  • Cut rectangular strips to start forming the broken panties.
  • And cut those rectangular strips in half. Make a hole in the center of each rectangle.
  • You must pass one end of the dough through the hole that we have in the center and stretch as shown in the photograph, take the broken panties to an oven plate at 180ºC for approximately 20 minutes, it is important that you control the temperature and they don’t burn. Pass the term so that they are not hard or stiff.
