Ingredients to make broad bean Tlacoyo:

  • 1 kilogram of corn dough
  • 1 kilogram of yellow bean
  • ½ piece of Onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup of grated cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded lettuce
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make broad bean Tlacoyo:

In the following image you can see the ingredients that we will need to prepare these delicious broad bean tlacoyos. To begin, we are going to wash the beans perfectly and let them rest in water for approximately two hours, this is so that when they are cooked, the cooking is faster and better.

Once this time has passed, we drain the water from the beans and place them in a saucepan with boiling water, and also add the onion and the clove of garlic as well as a pinch of salt and let them cook until they are very soft. Once the beans are cooked, on the other hand we take the corn dough and form a kind of tortilla but this must have an elliptical shape, as can be seen in the following image, and it must also have an approximate thickness of 0.5 cm, it must not be thin this tortilla. Now we take a little of the cooked beans and place them in the center of our Mexican tlacoyo, distributing it lengthwise.

To seal the broad bean tlacoyo, first we take one of the sides, we take it to the center covering the filling, then we take the second side, we take it in the same way to the center covering the first side, and then we fold the ends a little to the center, completely sealing our Mexican tlacoyo

Once all our broad bean tlacoyos are formed, we take them to cook on a hot griddle over high heat.

Once the dough is cooked, our broad bean tlacoyos will be ready. I recommend that you serve them hot with your favorite sauce, plus some sour cream, grated cheese, and shredded lettuce.
