Bridal Rice Recipe

Ingredients to make Bridal Rice:

  • For 4 people:
  • 4 cup rice
  • 1/4 kg. lean minced pork
  • 1/2 kg. grated tomato
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 8 cups of cooked broth
  • 2 tablespoon lard

How to make Bridal Rice:

  1. This rice was the one that, in the past, was offered to the guests on the wedding day in those houses that did not have economic resources.
  2. Currently it is made in very few homes, since the recipe is passed from father to son.
  3. It corresponds to the region of L’Horta.
  4. Sauté the meat together with the tomato and the garlic clove.
  5. In a clay pot, put the rice and cover with the previous sauce.
  6. Pour in the broth and add the lard.
  7. Bake in a strong oven (220ºC) for 40-50 minutes.
