Ingredients to make Bridal Rice:
- For 4 people:
- 4 cup rice
- 1/4 kg. lean minced pork
- 1/2 kg. grated tomato
- 1 garlic clove
- 8 cups of cooked broth
- 2 tablespoon lard
How to make Bridal Rice:
- This rice was the one that, in the past, was offered to the guests on the wedding day in those houses that did not have economic resources.
- Currently it is made in very few homes, since the recipe is passed from father to son.
- It corresponds to the region of L’Horta.
- Sauté the meat together with the tomato and the garlic clove.
- In a clay pot, put the rice and cover with the previous sauce.
- Pour in the broth and add the lard.
- Bake in a strong oven (220ºC) for 40-50 minutes.
