We teach you how to cook wonders with hake and this time we are going for the recipes with hake medallions, a very popular presentation because we can get it frozen and it is quite cheap, children love it.

What we will do is prepare a crispy batter to bathe our medallions and then fry them, the result will be a delicious dish of crunchy battered hake, perfect for a weekend meal, for the whole family.

Ingredients to make Breaded Hake Medallions:

  • 1 kilogram of Hake medallions
  • 75 grams of wheat flour
  • 5 grams of yeast or baking powder
  • 1 glass of water
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg

How to make Breaded Hake Medallions:

  1. We gather all the ingredients on the work table. Make medallions like the ones we use in this recipe come frozen and are ideal for preparing original and quick dishes.
  2. To make the batter, we mix the flour with the yeast and a pinch of salt. Place these ingredients in a bowl or plate where it is easy for you to cover the medallions.
  3. Add the egg and mix as well as possible. To finish the dough to get some crispy hake medallions, add the water and mix again.
  4. Season the fish, which should already be at room temperature, with a touch of salt and pepper to taste. Then, we bathe the hake in the batter until everything is well covered, as seen in the photo.
  5. Next, heat enough oil in a deep frying pan and fry the medallions until they are golden brown on both sides. Keep an eye on the temperature of the oil to prevent the fish from burning before it is cooked.

Reserve on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.

Serve the battered hake medallions accompanied with a few lemon wedges and a bit of grated carrot salad. And if you want a sauce to accompany it, we recommend the tartar sauce that combines very well with fish.
