Ingredients to make Battered Squid:

  • 400 grams of fresh or frozen squid
  • 1 cup of wheat flour (140 grams)
  • 1 cup of cornmeal (120 grams)
  • 3 glasses of sunflower oil
  • salt to taste

How to make battered baby squid:

  1. Put the already cleaned cuttlefish on a blotting paperto remove the water they release.
  2. When they are well drained or dry, transfer them to a plate. Put a pinch of salt to taste, but don’t go too far, because the idea is to give them a soft point so that the frying can be savored.
  3. Prepare a cup of corn and another of wheat flour.
  4. In a plastic bag, put the squid and the 2 cups of flour. Stir holding the end of the bag until they are well impregnated. So you can bread them without dirtying anything.
  5. Trick: The mixture of these two flours makes the batters super thin and crunchy
  6. Heat sunflower oil in a skillet until very hot. Fry the squid for 4 minutes.
  7. Scoop out the cuttlefish with a skimmerand let them drain on a napkin or blotting paper.
  8. Serve your baby squid in batterwith mayonnaise or aioli sauce. Enjoy!
