Black Olive Pate Recipe

Olive pâté or “tapenade”, as it is also known, is a paste of black olives macerated with other ingredients. It is ideal to serve as an appetizer spread on toast or crackers, you can also use it to flavor some sauces. This olive pâté contains few calories so it is very healthy, however it is not recommended to abuse it as it tends to be a bit greasy. Take note of the ingredients and prepare this delicious olive pâté.

Ingredients to make black olive pate:

  • 100 grams of pitted black olives
  • 1 gram of white onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 50 milliliters of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of fine herbs
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make black olive pate:

1 Before making this pâté recipe, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.

2 Crush the garlic cloves with a pinch of salt until you get a paste.

3 In a bowl, mash the black olives, the onion, the olive oil, the garlic, a pinch of fine herbs and mix everything very well, leave it to rest for 1 hour to continue with the preparation of the olive pâté.

4 Process the mixture until you obtain a thick and homogeneous paste, if necessary rectify the flavor with salt.

5 Serve the black olive pâté and enjoy with small toasts or crackers, it is ideal to serve as a snack.
