How to make Beetroot and Chocolate Cake:

  1. The first step to make this delicious recipe with beetroot and chocolate is to prepare the ingredient
  2. Peel the beetroot and cut it into similar squares, take it to a pot with enough water and cook until soft. Once cooked, remove the beetroot and save the cooking juice as we are going to use it later. Reserve beets.
  3. Meanwhile, for a bain-marieto melt the chocolate. To do this, she takes a pot with two cups of water over medium-low heat, adds a bowl without letting it touch the hot water so that we can make an excellent bain-marie without burning our chocolate. He adds the chocolate and lets it melt.
  4. While the chocolate melts, pass the wheat flour through a strainer. This process is known as screening
  5. Make an arch with the flour and add the eggs in the center to begin to form the dough for the beetroot cake. With the help of a whisk or a spatula, mix the ingredients well.
  6. Add a little of the liquid that was left over from cooking the beets and mix all the ingredients very well.
  7. When you see that the chocolate is melting, add the milk cream and mix everything. This is known as ganache or chocolate coating, which goes fantastic with our beetroot cake.
  8. Process the cooked beets until you get a puree
  9. Add the mixture of milk cream and melted chocolate to the bowl where we had the wheat flour and the eggs. Also add the sugar, cinnamon powder and the essence of vanilla to give a special touch to our preparation.
  10. Finally add the melted butter and the processed beetroot, mix very well until all the ingredients of our cake are integrated.
  11. Grease a mold with a little butter and take the mixture to this mold.
  12. Preheat an oven to 200 degrees Celsius, once hot, lower to 180 and take our homemade cake to the oven for approximately 20 minutes.
  13. Once you remove the cake from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes and unmold when it is at room temperature.
  14. As you can see, this delicious cake has an intense color that is perfect for serving on Valentine’s Day. As a final decoration you can sprinkle a little icing sugar on top for the beetroot and chocolate cake or if you cannot make a vegan frosting.
