Beet Hummus Recipe

Hummus is that famous paste made from chickpeas, traditional in Arab cuisine. On this occasion, we offer you a different and very colorful version, beet hummus is a beet-based spread that has a fresh and exquisite flavor. Follow the step by step of this easy recipe and enjoy!

Ingredients to make Beetroot Hummus:

  • 80 grams of Chickpeas
  • 1 unit of Beetroot
  • 1 lemon unit
  • 10 grams of Parsley
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 50 grams of roasted sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 jet of olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper

How to make Beetroot Hummus:

1 Before making this vegan hummus recipe, the first step is to get all the ingredients ready.

2 In a pot of boiling water, cook the chickpeas (soaked overnight) over medium heat for 40 minutes. Check that the grain is soft.

3 In a pot with boiling water, cook the beets cut into large pieces for 45 minutes over medium heat and with the pot covered until soft. Once this list, peel the beet and reserve.

4 In the blender, process the chickpeas, the beetroot, the garlic clove, the lemon juice and the necessary olive oil.

5 When we get a paste, add the sesame seeds, parsley, salt, cumin and pepper. Blend again until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

6 Serve the beetroot hummus and cover with a little olive oil and sesame seeds. This recipe is ideal to accompany with pita bread or with crackers to enjoy as an appetizer with beets.
