  • 500 grams of veal (if possible, cut into small pieces)
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 bag of Portobello mushrooms or any other mushroom
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 medium onions
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 glass of red wine
  • 2 teaspoons of spices (cumin, basil and paprika)
  • 1 liter of water
  • 4 nails

How to make Beef Stew in a pressure cooker:

Put a small cup of oil in an express pot and make a quick fry of laminated garlic. Without burning, put it aside and fry the meat in the same oil to seal it on the outside and ensure that it does not lose its juice. During this process the meat may release some water but it does not matter, as soon as it takes on color it means that it is ready.

Add half a liter of water to the meat and close the pressure cooker so that it has a first cooking time of 20 minutes. Then, open and add the wine, the remaining half liter of water, the spices, the laminated garlic sauce and, finally, the carrots, onions, potatoes and mushrooms, all chopped and raw. Also add salt to taste, close the pot again and cook for 10 more minutes.

By adding the raw vegetables we get the juices of the spices and the vegetables to merge and give us as a result a beef stew in an express pot with a truly exquisite sauce.

Trick: This second cooking is one of the tricks to make the meat so tender that it melts in your mouth.

If you prefer the vegetables more al dente, cook it for 5 minutes in the second cooking, although with 10 it is at the exact point.

Remove a potato from the pot to mash it with a little broth. Then, add this puree to the stew and let it cook for a few minutes to finish thickening the sauce. In this way, it is a thicker and healthier beef stew in a slow cooker, without adding more calories with thickeners or flours.

It only remains to taste it and decide if it is necessary to add a little more salt or not. Recipes in an express pot always allow us to prepare delicious dishes in a much shorter time. This meat stew in a quick pot is an easy and tasty beef stew, with which you get a very tender and juicy meat. You can accompany this dish with a green salad and prepare a lemon dessert.

  • Respecting the timeof the beef stew in a fast pot is essential so that the meat is really as we want. Cooking too long will make the veal tough and cooking too short will result in raw meat inside. If it has already happened to you that the meat has become tough, consult this article to fix it: “Why is my stewed meat hard “.
  • Sautéing the garlic first results in infused oil with a lot of flavor, which is also transferred to the meat when it is seared. In this way, the stew is much more flavorful.
  • Grinding a part of the potatowith the broth of the stew itself is an infallible trick to thicken the sauce without the need to add flour or artificial thickeners, so we obtain a much lighter and healthier beef stew with vegetables in a quick pot.
