Battered crab sticks recipe

Ingredients to make Battered Crab Sticks:

  • 1 package of crab sticks / Surimi)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 bowl of panko or breadcrumbs
  • 1 bowl of flour for coating
  • oil for frying
  • 1 pinch of salt

How to make Battered Crab Sticks:

  1. Beat the eggson a plate and add a pinch of salt.
  2. Heat the oil to fry in a pan until it is very hot.
  3. Coat the crab sticksfirst in the bowl of flour, then with the beaten egg and finally with the panko or breadcrumbs.
  4. Panko is a thicker type of Japanese breadcrumb than the typical one we know, which makes the texture of food much crisper.
  5. Tip: If you use frozen crab sticks you have to let them defrost beforehand.
  6. Fry the battered crab sticks until golden brown on all sides. Drain excess fat, reserving them on a plate with absorbent paper.
  7. Serve this easy recipe for battered crab sticksas an appetizer, entree or main dish and accompany it with the garnish that you fancy the most.
