Basic Chicken Broth Recipe

Ingredients to make Basic Chicken Stock:

  • 300 grams of chicken bone
  • ½ unit of white onion
  • 50 grams of Celery
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ½ unit of Carrot
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper

How to make Basic Chicken Stock:

1.Get all the ingredients ready to prepare the chicken broth. You can use chicken bones or pieces with meat such as the thighs or the neck that give a lot of flavor.

2.Wash and chop all the vegetables into large pieces. Remember to peel the carrot, onion and garlic.

3.In a large enough pot, add the water with all the ingredients, the water should cover everything. Cook over low heat for at least an hour.

Tip: If you want to speed up the cooking process you can use a pressure or express cooker.

4.After this time, check that all the vegetables and chicken are cooked. Then pass the broth through a sieve. With the rest of the vegetables you can make a puree and if you have used chicken thighs or pieces with meat you can shred it and use it to make an avocado and chicken sandwich.

5.From this point you have two options, you can blend all the ingredients (except the bay leaf and thyme) and return the broth to the fire for 15 minutes. Correct the seasoning and the result will be a rich vegetable soup, a perfect soup for children.
