Banana cake with chocolate recipe

Ingredients to make Banana cake with chocolate:

  • 250 grams of Margarine or Unsalted Butter
  • 1¼ cups of brown sugar (225 grams)
  • ½ cup of Walnuts
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla
  • 2 cups self-rising or prepared wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • ½ cup of Cocoa powder (52½ grams)
  • 4 ripe Bananas or Cambures

How to make Banana cake with chocolate:

  • Before starting to prepare our banana cake, we begin by turning on the oven to preheat it to 180º C. Gather all the ingredients on the work table, taking into account that we have two measures of sugar that we will use separately
  • Beat the butter with the sugar until you get a creamy mixture. For this banana cake recipe you can use normal sugar or brown sugar as we have done. It is also important that in these first steps you help yourself with an electric mixer.
  • Add the eggs one by one and when they have been fully integrated, also add the vanilla, cocoa powder and crushed banana. Continue beating until you get a mass that is as homogeneous as possible.
  • Next, we stop mixing the dough for the homemade cake with the electric mixer and use manual whisks. Then, we add the flour little by little, previously sifted with the baking powder.
  • Let’s mix by removing with smooth and enveloping movements. Also add the chopped walnuts and cocoa powder in this step.
  • Pour the mixture into an oven-safe mold and cook for about 40 minutes. Do the checking, sticking a toothpick in the center of the banana cake to check that the dough is done.
