Baked tuna belly recipe

The belly is the part of the tuna next to the belly of the fish, and it is tastier than the loin. Learn how to prepare tuna belly in the oven with these simple steps

Ingredients to make Baked Tuna Belly:

  • 1 tuna belly fillet
  • 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of rosemary

How to make Baked Tuna Belly:

  1. Here we have the ingredients to prepare the baked tuna. We ask the fishmonger to clean our belly. The fillet was quite large, so we have divided it into two pieces. For the dressing you can use rosemary or some other spice, such as parsley.
  2. First we prepare the dressing to water the belly. In a bowl, pour a good jet of extra virgin olive oil, the rosemary and some salt. Let it rest for about 10 minutes so that the aromas permeate.
  3. Tip: Preheat the oven now, to 200 degrees.
  4. On a baking tray, place baking paper and, on top, spread the tuna belly. On top of the fillets, pour the oil and rosemary dressing, and if you want a little more salt.
  5. We put the fish in the oven, previously preheated to 200ºC, and let it cook for between 10 and 15 minutes. It is important to control it to prevent it from drying out.
  6. The tuna belly in the oven is now ready to serve.
