In addition, the recipe for the salty sliced bread cake is easy and simple to prepare, and the filling is optional, so you can add the ingredients that you like the most.

Ingredients to make Savory Baked Bread Cake:

  • 10 slices of sliced bread
  • 150 grams of Bacon or smoked pancetta
  • 150 grams of York ham
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • 200 grams of liquid cream
  • 2 units of Eggs

How to make Baked Sliced Bread Savory Cake:

The first step to make this savory sliced bread cake in the oven is to preheat the oven to 180º C, and prepare a mold to make it. To do this, we completely cover it with the slices of bacon, leaving them to protrude from the edges.

Later, we put a few slices of sliced bread on the bottom to cover the entire base. If necessary, we cut some to fill all the gaps. On top of the sliced bread we put the slices of sweet ham.

We will make layers of ham and cheese until it reaches the top of the mold. This is how we will form our bimbo bread cake with baked ham and cheese. In a bowl, put the beaten eggs and cream, and beat everything well. We will pour this mixture all over the salty sliced bread cake, trying to cover the entire surface.

Finally, we close the sliced bread cake with the bacon slices, covering the entire surface well again.

So now we put the salty sliced bread cake in the oven until it is golden brown and done on the inside. You just have to curdle the liquid together with the bread, which takes about 20-30 minutes. When we see it, we take it out of the oven.

Tip: If you want to get a sliced bread cake au gratin, you can sprinkle grated cheese on top before putting it in the oven.

To finish, let the salty loaf cake cool in the oven, then remove it from the mold and place it in a bowl. And we can eat it hot or cold. Bon Appetite!
