Baked Sardines with Garlic and Rosemary Recipe

Cooking sardines in the oven is always a good option, especially if we have fresh sardines at home. Its preparation is very simple and it has an indescribable flavor and on this occasion, we offer you an economical and very practical recipe with which you can solve the weekend meal without problems.

So let’s prepare some delicious baked sardines with garlic and rosemary for the whole family.

Ingredients to make Baked Sardines with Garlic and Rosemary:

  • 2 kilograms of fresh Sardines
  • 1 jet of Oil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 branches of dried thyme
  • 2 branches of dried rosemary
  • 1 pinch of Salt and Pepper
  • olive oil
  • 1 pinch of Thyme powder
  • 1 pinch of rosemary powder

How to make Baked Sardines with Garlic and Rosemary:

  1. Put the oven to preheat to 210ºC up and down. Clean and wash the sardines well, remove the head and open the body so that you can remove the guts and the bones, leaving only the clean sardine fillets.
  2. Put them in a colander so they drain well. Salt the fish and take the opportunity to cut the garlic into small dice.
  3. In an oven tray, put olive oil and place the rosemary and thyme branches on top. Distribute the sardines on the tray spreading the garlic on top. If you want you can add a touch of rosemary and thyme powder to intensify the flavor.
  4. Finish dressing on top with one more drizzle of olive oil.
  5. Put the tray in the oven when it is hot and let the fish cook.
  6. In my oven it took 15 minutes but the time can vary depending on the power, so keep that in mind and keep checking until you see that the meat of the sardines is done.
  7. Serve the Rosemary Garlic Baked Sardines hot, fresh out of the oven, and enjoy with some bread and nothing else.
