Ingredients to make Baked Neapolitan Flan without a bain-marie:

  • ½ cup of condensed milk (120 grams)
  • 3 pieces of Egg
  • 3 tablespoons of Sugar
  • 60 grams of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of whole milk

How to make Baked Neapolitan Flan without a bain-marie:

  1. Below we present the ingredients that we will use in the preparation of our baked Neapolitan flan.
  2. The first thing we will do is start mixing ingredients. So, we put the eggs, milk, condensed milk and cream cheese in a deep container.
  3. Next, and with the help of a blender, we perfectly integrate all the ingredients until we get a lump-free mixture. We reserved for a moment.
  4. On the other hand, to make the caramel, we take the flan mold, place it on the stove over medium heat and add the tablespoons of sugar.
  5. We constantly move the sugaruntil the caramel is formed. We remove it from the heat and let it cool.
  6. Once the caramel is fried, we pour the Neapolitan flan mixture that we previously beat inside.
  7. Since all the shake is in the mold on top of the caramel, we cover it with aluminum foil. Try to close completely, avoiding any opening.
  8. Cook the Neapolitan flan in the oven at 180ºC. For 45 minutes.
  9. Preferably check the cooking of the homemade flan after the first 30 minutes.
  10. To know if it is done, we insert a toothpick, if it comes out dry it indicates that the homemade flan is ready. Cooking time may vary depending on the oven used.
  11. Once done, let it rest for a few minutes until it reaches room temperature and unmold the flan.
  12. To do so, help yourself with a knife to remove all the edges of the mold, then place a plate on the mold and turn the flan over.
  13. Keep in the fridge for about two hours so that it finishes curdling and you can now enjoy the delicious baked Neapolitan flan without a bain-marie.
