Baked Corn Arepas Recipe

Think you can’t make arepas in the oven crispy? Well, nothing is further from reality because they can be done perfectly and are just as delicious as the classic ones. a delicious filling of minced meat, vegetables and mushrooms, but that you can perfectly modify according to your tastes.

Ingredients to make Baked Corn Arepas:

• 300 g of corn flour

• 450 ml warm water

• 1 tablespoon of salt

• 500 g minced meat

• 2 garlic

• 1 spring onion

• 1/2 glass of Brandy

• Mushrooms

• 1 large carrot

How to make Baked Corn Arepas:

To prepare the dough for the arepas, mix the cornmeal, water and salt until you have a smooth dough. Let stand a few minutes. Separate the dough into small balls to form the corn arepas.

In a frying pan, add the carrot in small pieces. Once soft, add the onion and minced garlic. When it is soft, add the mushrooms and sprinkle with the Brandy. When all the liquid evaporates, add the minced meat and season to taste. Cook until everything is well done. Bake the arepas in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180ºC.

Trick: That is the time it takes to make the roasted arepas more or less.

Serve the baked corn arepas next to the ground beef with vegetables and mushrooms, filling them to taste.
