Ingredients to make Baked Casarecce Pasta:
- 200 grams of Casarecce pasta or other short pasta
- 500 grams of Broccoli
- 200 grams of braised turkey breast
- 200 milliliters of Cream for cooking
- 100 grams of grated cheese
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of ground pepper
- 1 pinch of minced garlic
- 1 splash of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cayenne’s
How to make Baked Casarecce Pasta:
- To start preparing this casarecce pasta in the oven, we cut the broccoli into small pieces. We peel the trunk and cut it into slices (as if they were coins) and cook it or steam it according to our taste.
- Tip: We can also use frozen broccoli, but I prefer the natural one.
- Meanwhile, we put the casarecce pasta to cook in a pot covered with water. When it is al dente (cooked without being soft) we remove it from the heat, drain and reserve.
- Tip: You can use any other type of short pasta for this recipe.
- We cut the braised turkey breast into cubes. We can also use fresh turkey breast or tenderloin, the only difference is to sauté them a little more in the pan
- In a wide frying pan, add a drizzle of olive oil and two cayenne peppers and, when hot, add the broccoli and turkey and sauté for a few minutes. Then add the pasta, stir well and add the cream.
- Tip: The cream can be substituted for another sauce that we like or for spreadable cheese in this pasta dish with broccoli and turkey.
- Mix and add the salt, pepper and ground garlic. Pour the pasta with broccoli and turkey into a baking dish and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Place the casarecce pasta in a preheated oven at 180ºC and bake until the cheese has melted (approximately 15-20 minutes).
- Serve the casarecce pasta in the oven when it has cooled in five minutes, and enjoy!
- We can also let it cool down, cover it with transparent film and we will have the food ready for the next day. It heats up perfectly in the microwave and therefore, we can take the pasta with broccoli and turkey in a Tupperware to work. Bon appetite!
