Bacon and Cheese Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients to make Shrimp with Bacon and Cheese:

  • 10 fresh or frozen shrimp
  • 1 package of light bacon
  • 2 slices of light cream cheese
  • wooden chopsticks
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

How to make Shrimp with Bacon and Cheese:

  1. If you have frozen shrimp, the first thing you should do is thaw To do this, we recommend letting them thaw on their own and drying them well before starting to cook
  2. Wash and peel the shrimp, leaving only the tail.
  3. If you want to take advantage of the shells, prepare a broth with them and use it to make a dish of rice with squid, for example, it will give it a lot of flavor
  4. Cut the cheese into very narrow stripsbecause you should use it to fill the shrimp, not to wrap them.
  5. Also cut the bacon lengthwise to obtain two strips from each slice.
  6. With a small, sharp knife, make a vertical cut onthe inside of each shrimp to open it up and fill it. Insert one or two strips of cheese through the opening, as shown in the image
  7. Wrap a strip of bacon around the shrimpand secure it with a wooden toothpick to prevent it from splitting open.
  8. The tail should be exposed as this will allow you to hold the bacon shrimp around to eat once done.
  9. Although it may seem complicated to fill and wrap the shrimp, you will see that as you do, they will turn out better, it is a matter of practice!
  10. Brush an oven tray or similar with olive oil and preheat the ovento 180 ºC with heat only on top and the grill option if you have it.
  11. Place the shrimp with bacon stuffed with cheese, leaving some space between them and bake them fora maximum of 10 minutes, since it is not convenient for the seafood to remain dry and lose its juiciness.
  12. You will see how the bacon releases its own juice, helps to cook the shrimp and melt the cheese. The contrast of the bacon and the shrimp will be sublime!
  13. And if you accompany the dish with a sauce, such as barbecue sauce…, the result is even more spectacular!
  14. You can also sprinkle freshly ground pepper, but never salt because you will see that the cheese and bacon already provide more than enough.
  15. Consuming too much sodium can cause further health problems, so we do not recommend adding salt
