Artichoke Water

Ingredients to make Artichoke Water:

  1. 2 artichokes
  2. 3 liters of water
  3. 1 lemon
  4. 10 mint leaves (optional)

How to make Artichoke Water:

  • Wash the artichokes very well, reduce the stem and cut them in half very carefully, since they are a bit hard and difficult to cut.
  • In a pot with plenty of water, enough to submerge the artichokes, boil the water until the artichokes are soft at the base of their stem. This will take 30 to 45 minutes, depending mostly on the size of the artichokes.
  • After cooking the artichokes, remove them and consume them as you prefer, leave the water on the fire to add a few slices of lemon and the mint leaves, cook covered over low heat for 20 more minutes.
  • Remove from heat and separate the water from the lemon and mint. You can drink the artichoke tea while it is still hot to make the most of its properties. If you want, you can sweeten it and add a few extra drops of lemon. You can also wait for it to cool down and serve it with ice.
