Apple strudel with puff pastry recipe

The strudel is a typical German and Austrian recipe that is prepared with apple and cinnamon. This apple pie is usually accompanied with hot vanilla sauce.

  • 3 units of Apple
  • 1 unit of puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 squeeze of Lemon

How to make apple strudel with puff pastry:

  1. We gather all the ingredientsto prepare the apple strudel with puff pastry.
  2. As we have said in the introduction to the recipe, you can buy the puff pastry already ready or make it yourself.
  3. Peel the apples and remove the core. For this recipe you can use any type of apple that is not very acidic.
  4. Cut the applesinto slices and sprinkle them with a few drops of lemon so they don’t rust.
  5. Add the ground cinnamon,brown sugar and vanilla essence. Mix well and let marinate for a couple of minutes.
  6. In a saucepan, melt the butterand add the apple.
  7. We move and cook for 3-4 minutes. The butter gives the strudel a very nice smooth texture.
  8. We spread the puff pastryand, if necessary, knead it with a rolling pin to make it thinner.
  9. Cut the puff pastry in half, fill one of the halves with the mixture of apple and spices and cover with the other half.
  10. We close the puff pastry by pressing on the sides so that it does not open.
  11. We beat the egg and paint the strudelall over the surface. We put the apple strudel in the oven at 180ºC for 15 minutes.
