Apple pie with crumble recipe

Ingredients to make Apple Pie with Crumble:

  • 300 grams of flour 0000 (loose or refined)
  • 200 grams of butter
  • 150 grams of sugar (¾ cup)
  • For the apple filling:
  • 500 grams of apples
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (cornstarch)

How to make Apple Crumble Pie:

  1. To start preparing this delicious apple crumble pie, peel and cut the apples into thin wedges.
  2. Soak them in the juice of 1 lemon with the 3 tablespoons of sugar and the tablespoon of cornstarch while you prepare the rest of the cake.
  3. For the dough, mix the flour with the sugar and the cold butter.
  4.  Helping you with your fingertips, integrate the 3 ingredients until you get a texture similar to sand, as you see in the image.
  5. Use 3/4 of the preparation to cover the base of a removable mold, previously greased with butter.
  6. With the help of your hands, apply some pressure so that the sandblasting unites to form a mass.
  7. Tip: make sure you also cover the edges of your mold.
  8. Cook the tart base for about 20 minutes in the preheated oven at 180 1C, or until lightly golden, as you can see in the image.
  9. Cover the base of your cake with the apples that you have soaked with the lemon.
  10. In turn, cover the apples with the rest of the flour, sugar and butter sandblasting, this time without pressing so that the crispy crust forms.
  11. Bake the apple crumble pie for about 15 minutes or until the surface is lightly browned.
